St Pancras Tunnels were a labyrinth of tunnels near St Pancras International.

History[]

Infected with the Future Fungus, Sir Richard Bentley left St Pancras station and retreated from the sunlight into a nearby tunnel system, where he was overtaken completely by the fungus. The ARC team pursued Sir Richard Bentley into these tunnels, finding the fully transformed Fungus Creature. The Fungus Creature attacked them, infecting one Special Forces officer. Realising that gunfire was ineffective against the creature, Danny Quinn brought flamethrowers, under the impression that the Fungus was heat-sensitive, which turned out to be incorrect. The team searched for the Fungus creature, now armed with flamethrowers, eventually cornering it. Luckily, Sarah Page was able to alert the ARC team that the Fungus could not be killed by fire, and the team aborted their attack. The Fungus Creature was subsequently driven upstairs, and contained in an armoured truck sent by 'Dave the Lodge'. The creature was then driven to the ARC, where it was frozen. (Episode 3.5)

Trivia[]

  • The exterior shot of the tunnels features the clock tower of St Pancras International station, however the scene was filmed in Bermondsey, and the clock tower was added by Framestore in post effects.
  • Lucy Brown, the actor who plays Jenny Lewis in this episode, described the 'underground asylum' that these tunnels were filmed in were 'one of the scariest locations' she had ever filmed in.
  • The cast filmed short horror movies while shooting this episode in the underground catacombs.
