Silurian desert (The Sound of Thunder)

The Silurian desert was a desert in the Silurian period and the home of at least one Brontoscorpio. The desert was prone to tremors and other seismic activity, due to numerous volcanoes. The ground in the desert was also riddled with hidden sinkholes which could easily collapse even when a very small amount of weight was on them.
