The Primeval Theme Tune (or Primeval Titles on the OST) is the music played during the title sequence and the end credits of every Primeval episode. The theme was originally 36 seconds long, composed by Dominik Scherrer and was used during Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3. The end credits were slightly different, ending into a fade, missing the final 3 seconds but adding a final drum beat.
For Series 4 and Series 5, the theme tune (along with the title sequence) was recomposed by the new series composer Stephen McKeon. It is 33 seconds long and ends similarly to the ending credits version of the Theme Tune not the intro version. New additions includes trumpets near the start and the creature sounds from the title sequence video clips. Interestingly Scherrer's ending version of the Theme Tune was still used on the end credits.
The Primeval Theme Tune appears on the Primeval Original Television Soundtrack.
