Mary Trent was the mother of Ben Trent, who lived with her son in a small cul-de-sac in the Forest of Dean.
When Abby Maitland came from Wellington Zoo to see Rex, Mary greeted her. The following night, when she found Ben's room destroyed in the aftermath of a Gorgonopsid attack, a furious Mary believed Ben had done it due to over-active imagination, and she did not believe Ben's claims about the Gorgonopsid or an Anomaly he had looked through in the Forest.
