Audio commentaries are additional behind the scenes audio track consisting of a lecture or comments by one or more speakers, that plays over the soundtrack, in real time alongside a television show or movie. There are five known audio commentaries for Primeval episodes; three were hosted by co-creator, producer; Tim Haines and four by co-creator, writer; Adrian Hodges.

Episode 2.1 Highlights[]
- At the Castle Cross Shopping Mall, Nick Cutter and Stephen Hart were to ride down some escalators on their dirt-bike, but the scene was cut due to filming schedules. The Bentall Centre even gave the Primeval crew permission to film it.
- Haines and Hodges wanted the Raptors to have feathers but due to animation limitations, only proto-feathers could be animated. The producers were happy with the result anyway.
- It was planned by Hodges that Cutter was to be suicidal when he travelled to the Cretaceous but his actor; Douglas Henshall suggested that Cutter would rather try to fix the timeline rather than die.

Actor: Andrew-Lee Potts joined Haines and Hodges for this commentary
- The Cleaner's role was originally just the two minute initial scene from Episode 2.1 before his role was expanded to be a mercenany (and later Cleaner Clones).
- Director Tony Mitchell tried to use minimal CGI with the Cleaner Clones. Using "clever camerawork" and standins to represent one actor as several clones.
- Tim Faraday is appearently afraid of heights. Especially while filming the Cleaner Clone jumping off the roof.
- The rooftop was filmed in south west London.
- Potts notes the new cast images in the Primeval Title Sequence.
- The new security fence around the ARC building was filmed in Docklands.
- Hodges notes Michael Ralph's work as Production Designer, in regards to the Matrix.
- Ramon Tikaram and Ruth Gemmell (Mick Harper and Katherine Kavanagh) were on set for the whole filming schedule but their scenes kept getting pushed back until they were filmed at the end.
- Jenny's house has changed since Episode 2.2 and several main locations have also changed this series including Abby's flat.
- Haines and Hodges say they have always teased how much the public knows about the coverup of the Anomalies and creatures. And they tried to make it convincing that the ARC could successfully cover them up.
- Haines notes the episode was written by Mike Cullen.
- Potts and Haines notes Connor's shorter hair and a new look for everyone this series.
- The creators always try to pick Anomaly locations that people are familiar with. And in this case they wanted to do a hospital.
- The first half of the episode was intentionally made lighter in tone before getting darker leading up to Cutter's fate at the end.
- Haines notes the smaller creatures on a shiny floor was harder to animate than the bigger 'dinosaurs' outside. Specifically because they are closer and require more detail (including the reflection).

Episode 3.5 Highlights[]
Actors; Ben Miller, Lucy Brown and Series Producer:Tim Bradley hosted this commentary. Actor; Jason Flemyng joined momentarily at the end.
- Many of the commuters in the train station were actual people on their way to work. Lucy Brown recalled almost running into people as she and the cast ran through the location.
- Some of the underground scenes of the episode were filmed beneath London Bridge, the same location that Episode 1.2 was shot. The rest were shot in an old underground asylum, a location that Lucy Brown described as "the creepiest location she's ever filmed at."
- The cast apparently filmed short horror movies on their phones between takes in the underground.
