Editor from back in the day speaking, come back to bring something new to the Wiki. I would request the Gallery Pages that I created be restored. Primeval Wiki already has galleries for Creatures and for a wiki of its size I don't see why it can't accomodate galleries for Characters and Episodes, which I believe would be a welcome resource and area as seen on other wikis (the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki is a good example of this).
What's on your mind?
I've already posted this on Diane Johnsons (the girlfriend of the lifeguard who got eaten by the Mosasaur) own page, but I haven't been getting replies likely because no one visits pages about one-shot characters. So I thought I'd bring it up here.
How and why could the police charge Diane with Anthony's murder? especially so quickly. I mean, let's think about it. They find no body (this is before the guys remains end up in the reservoir), so the only indication they have that he is even dead, at this point, is because Diane told them. So they're willing to just take her word that Anthony is dead, yet refuse to believe her when she said she didn't do it? I understand them not believing there being a sea monster in a swimming pool, but a girl telling the police her boyfriend was eaten by one definitely proves she murdered him, how? I can understand Diane being a suspect in Anthony's disappearance, but charging her with murder is kind of hasty to me.
Another thing. Why do Cutter, Claudia and Lester talk like they are the only ones who can save Diane from prison? What about her trial? For reasons I've already said, there's not enough evidence to convict her, so this is kind of an open and shut case, even if the Home Offence doesn't intervene.
Maybe I'm over thinking it, I mean Primeval is a Sci-fi/fantasy show about dinosaurs, not a crime drama, so they don't need to get the legal system accurate. Plus it's a good way to show how different Cutter and Lester's belief systems are. Cutter is a humanitarian who believes people's rights to freedom are more important then keep government secrets and would rather just let everyone know about the anomalies, meanwhile Lester believes in keeping anomalies and dinosaurs a secret no matter what the cost. But I just thought it up anyway.
I have heard some people say its bad but i want to know what most peoples advice is.
i just finished watching the series for the third time, and now im fed up with the lack of a new series. I want to do something about it! what can we do to persuade the networks to bring it back??? there's gotta be something. anything! anything at all that we can do to get primeval back. thank you!
What would it take for a group of fans to buy the rights to Primeval and then restart the series, maybe in the US, maybe Canada, maybe Britain? Or even just make a spin-off or film? The lack of Primeval is really starting to get on my nerves, as the only two TV series in history that had dinosaurs as a plot point (Primeval and Terra Nova) are both on hold because of the idiot networks. How much would buying Primeval cost, and how would we go about doing it?
My least favorite episode is Medical Mayhem (Episode 3.3), and my favorite would have to be Underwater Menace (Episode 2.4). What are your favorite and least favorite episodes, and why?
Of course the past exists. What, I didn't just write that? Is Cutter an idiot (yes, based on several of the decisions he made, but I wanted to give you a chance to answer the question)? I'm quite satisfied the series didn't continue but disappointed in the rationalism of humanity that it carried on as long as it did.
I'm a long time fan of the series and always believed we'd get a season 6 but that seems unlikely now. When season 5 ended with the possibility that all the anomalys had closed, I felt unsatisfied and shocked that it was all over just like that, I genuinely believed it was the end before we see the cliff-hanger with future Matt but still what would of happened next? We'll never know.
If we had been given a true final season with 7 episodes, I would of liked to see how convergence effected the ARC doing their job now that the world knows the truth, maybe its a good thing and Stephen was right all along? Conor and Abby happily married plus getting the old vibe the series had before Nick died too. Overall I would want an optimistic ending rather than "you have to go back".
In Primeval, it is common knowledge that the dinosaurs and other creatures are very scientifically inaccurate which was obviously done by the showrunners to make them scarier, but what if there's a reason for it within the show?
I was talking to a friend about this earlier today, we mentioned it could be multiple causes; parasites or illnesses, birth deformity, and the one that was most important of all is constant changes to the timeline. It is likely that before Helen Cutter went through all the anomalies that everything was more like it is in the real world, but her constant visits to the past and future and all the anomaly encounters with the ARC caused the creatures to look freakishly different to their original counterparts. One of my favorite examples for the freakish nature of the creatures is the Giganotosaurus in season 3, it's larger than it was in reality and the head is bigger, the eyes are located upwards unlike in reality there the eyes were more or so on the side of it's face.
Which brings me to my next point, most of the dinosaurs in New World are in their original un-altered state, the Utahraptor and Pteranodon look so different to the ones in the original show that it's jarring.
Could that mean New World takes place in a timeline where things weren't being altered so much? What do you think? Feel free to post your own theories to why the dinosaurs look the way they do in the shows.
This is from a fairly recent interview and I find it interesting they wanted Diplodocus to be in the show, so sad it didn't happen due to the budget. I imagine it looking like a scarier version of the Walking with Dinosaurs Diplodocus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQp02CnkqrE
I asked this on the ‘Primeval Answers’ wiki a while back, not knowing that that wiki was dead, and now I’m posting it here.
Hi guys, today we've made a video ranking the 10 best primeval episodes. Obviously this is very personal, so your choices will likely be different, so please let me know what they are and what you think of my choices. enjoy!
Actually i wanna know where is the filming location of this building? (Sorry about My English cuz' i am from Chile)
Also which is your favorite creature from the Creature Prison?
This sounds crazy but it happened with Black Mirror which was also a UK show, after watching Black Mirror and finding that out it crossed my mind that maybe the same should happen with Primeval and Primeval: New World. Have two more seasons or so to finally conclude it before any of the actors age.
I think it would be great if it gets picked up by Netflix because it may give the show a bigger audience.
I think The Cleaner in 2.5 and 2.4 (killed by scorpion) is clone of The Cleaner in 2.1. Because the Raptor baby attacked The Cleaner and wounded him. But in 2.4 and 2.5 The Cleaner haven't got any scars.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE!!
Thoery number 1: ALBERTOSAURUS
Me and a friend were discussing the innacuracy of the creatures and Primeval, it has come to my attention that seemingly no one except me realizes that the Albertosaurus in New World has three fingers, something the real one doesn't have.
My friend immediately came to the conclusion that the Albertosaurus has three fingers due to genetic mutation, I agreed and concluded our conversation by theorizing that the Albertosaurus may have been the product of inbreeding.
Now to theory number 2: WHY ALL THE CREATURES LOOK SO INNACURATE
We continued our conversation and thought to ourselves that maybe there is a reason why the creatures look nothing like the real ones, maybe some sort of toxin had begun to mutate all of the creatures and ended up giving them a more cartoonish, oversized appearance that also defies the laws of physics. The Giganotosaurus is the one who I think may be the greatest subject of all this, just look at it's head, it looks more like a T. rex and it's body is too skinny and small yet somehow it doesn't trip so easily.
Don't take my word as if it were Tim Haines' or any of the writers, I'm just stating a theory that could add a certain effect to how you guys view the series.
The Future world looks like somekinda post-apocalyptic (nuclear) aftermath. All the future creatures looks like mutants from the radiation. The City Ruin looks the same like the Fallout Post-Apocalyptic Nuclear Aftermath Game series City Ruins. Also the Animals looks like Mutated from Radius. What do you think?
What happened to the creatures that remain in the present? We know Rex, Sid and Nancy are Abby's pets. But other? Look my theories and say yours!
Oliver Leek's creatures
I have two ideas.
1. If ARC don't go to save creatures, Future Predators and Smilodon flees, climbing on a roof. The Smilodon attacks humans, ARC found it and sent it through anomaly. Four FP (Future Predator) returns, another be sent through anomaly or killed by ARC. Raptors killed one Mer Creature, another attacks Arthropleura, but FP and scorpion killed Arthropleura. Mer creature later stomped by Scutosaurus, one Raptor falled and get leg trauma. One FP killed by raptor, another - by scorpion. Later raptors and future predators killed scorpion. Later creatures died of starvation.
2. If ARC go to save creatures, future creatures be killed, extincted - sended to anomalies. Smilodon be in ARC to 4.7, in 4.7 it sended to anomaly. Raptors sended in 3.10 or 4.1. Scutosaurus, Arthropleura, Scorpion - i don't know.
We know one Hyenodon falled to death. But possibly it stand alive and live in ARC! It lives in ARC all 5 season and sended only later Primeval series.
I think it owned by ARC and live all 5 season and later. It possible sended in anomaly or live all life in ARC. But possible it died of PBFD virus (birds lost feathers of this sickness and dies).
I have a theory about how the Camo beast came into existence. My theory is when humans went extinct from the future predators, chimpanzees in africa evolved in african cities, and gained intelligence, and became the african apex predator. I can go into full depth, but since they have the features of an ape, an evolved chimpanzee seems most likely
