Hey guys quick question, is Primeval New World a reboot of Primeval?
Just Updated
I've heard a lot of people saying that Helen started to become more and more clinicaly mad after she started her crusade through the Anomaly, mostly for the fact that in season 3 she want to save the world from destruction by aborting the Future Preator creation while in season 1-2 she only think of her goal. In my opinion Helen was trying to abort the Predator creation from the beging, at least of season 2: I think that Helen had known that two of the baby Pretator have survived the Gorgonopsid attack and she let them go as a first experiment to see what would happen in the present, then when she went back into the permian, at the end of season 1, she actually found the future anomaly and went through it, she saw that this creature would have been created by humans and onece they will escape they would have made the natural ecosistem collapse and the last surviving animal would have become ferocius meat eating predator, then she found an Anomaly that leads towords the present, while she was in our time she had discovered the change that the two baby Predators have done to our time and she made a deal with Leek, she and a team of mercenary would have captured a small group of Future Predator and collected the neural claps and in change Leek should have given to Helen the possibility of doing experiment with the timeline (And she would have tried to do this experiment for aborting the Predator creaation)
But then the plan failled and the time for avoiding the clompete destruction of the ecosistem was ending so she started doing some last minute stand that where: Destroyng the ARC and killing Cutter, killing Christine Johnson, making a deal with Phillip Burton (As a reserve plan) and try to annihilate humanity. But she was stopped and we know the rest.
P.S.
I'm not justifing her, I still think she is a crazy bitch.

Editor from back in the day speaking, come back to bring something new to the Wiki. I would request the Gallery Pages that I created be restored. Primeval Wiki already has galleries for Creatures and for a wiki of its size I don't see why it can't accomodate galleries for Characters and Episodes, which I believe would be a welcome resource and area as seen on other wikis (the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki is a good example of this).
I've already posted this on Diane Johnsons (the girlfriend of the lifeguard who got eaten by the Mosasaur) own page, but I haven't been getting replies likely because no one visits pages about one-shot characters. So I thought I'd bring it up here.
How and why could the police charge Diane with Anthony's murder? especially so quickly. I mean, let's think about it. They find no body (this is before the guys remains end up in the reservoir), so the only indication they have that he is even dead, at this point, is because Diane told them. So they're willing to just take her word that Anthony is dead, yet refuse to believe her when she said she didn't do it? I understand them not believing there being a sea monster in a swimming pool, but a girl telling the police her boyfriend was eaten by one definitely proves she murdered him, how? I can understand Diane being a suspect in Anthony's disappearance, but charging her with murder is kind of hasty to me.
Another thing. Why do Cutter, Claudia and Lester talk like they are the only ones who can save Diane from prison? What about her trial? For reasons I've already said, there's not enough evidence to convict her, so this is kind of an open and shut case, even if the Home Offence doesn't intervene.
Maybe I'm over thinking it, I mean Primeval is a Sci-fi/fantasy show about dinosaurs, not a crime drama, so they don't need to get the legal system accurate. Plus it's a good way to show how different Cutter and Lester's belief systems are. Cutter is a humanitarian who believes people's rights to freedom are more important then keep government secrets and would rather just let everyone know about the anomalies, meanwhile Lester believes in keeping anomalies and dinosaurs a secret no matter what the cost. But I just thought it up anyway.
I have heard some people say its bad but i want to know what most peoples advice is.
i just finished watching the series for the third time, and now im fed up with the lack of a new series. I want to do something about it! what can we do to persuade the networks to bring it back??? there's gotta be something. anything! anything at all that we can do to get primeval back. thank you!
What would it take for a group of fans to buy the rights to Primeval and then restart the series, maybe in the US, maybe Canada, maybe Britain? Or even just make a spin-off or film? The lack of Primeval is really starting to get on my nerves, as the only two TV series in history that had dinosaurs as a plot point (Primeval and Terra Nova) are both on hold because of the idiot networks. How much would buying Primeval cost, and how would we go about doing it?
My least favorite episode is Medical Mayhem (Episode 3.3), and my favorite would have to be Underwater Menace (Episode 2.4). What are your favorite and least favorite episodes, and why?
Of course the past exists. What, I didn't just write that? Is Cutter an idiot (yes, based on several of the decisions he made, but I wanted to give you a chance to answer the question)? I'm quite satisfied the series didn't continue but disappointed in the rationalism of humanity that it carried on as long as it did.
I'm a long time fan of the series and always believed we'd get a season 6 but that seems unlikely now. When season 5 ended with the possibility that all the anomalys had closed, I felt unsatisfied and shocked that it was all over just like that, I genuinely believed it was the end before we see the cliff-hanger with future Matt but still what would of happened next? We'll never know.
If we had been given a true final season with 7 episodes, I would of liked to see how convergence effected the ARC doing their job now that the world knows the truth, maybe its a good thing and Stephen was right all along? Conor and Abby happily married plus getting the old vibe the series had before Nick died too. Overall I would want an optimistic ending rather than "you have to go back".
In Primeval, it is common knowledge that the dinosaurs and other creatures are very scientifically inaccurate which was obviously done by the showrunners to make them scarier, but what if there's a reason for it within the show?
I was talking to a friend about this earlier today, we mentioned it could be multiple causes; parasites or illnesses, birth deformity, and the one that was most important of all is constant changes to the timeline. It is likely that before Helen Cutter went through all the anomalies that everything was more like it is in the real world, but her constant visits to the past and future and all the anomaly encounters with the ARC caused the creatures to look freakishly different to their original counterparts. One of my favorite examples for the freakish nature of the creatures is the Giganotosaurus in season 3, it's larger than it was in reality and the head is bigger, the eyes are located upwards unlike in reality there the eyes were more or so on the side of it's face.
Which brings me to my next point, most of the dinosaurs in New World are in their original un-altered state, the Utahraptor and Pteranodon look so different to the ones in the original show that it's jarring.
Could that mean New World takes place in a timeline where things weren't being altered so much? What do you think? Feel free to post your own theories to why the dinosaurs look the way they do in the shows.
This is from a fairly recent interview and I find it interesting they wanted Diplodocus to be in the show, so sad it didn't happen due to the budget. I imagine it looking like a scarier version of the Walking with Dinosaurs Diplodocus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQp02CnkqrE
I asked this on the ‘Primeval Answers’ wiki a while back, not knowing that that wiki was dead, and now I’m posting it here.
Actually i wanna know where is the filming location of this building? (Sorry about My English cuz' i am from Chile)
Also which is your favorite creature from the Creature Prison?
